EMBRAER CAE TRAINING SERVICES ISSUE 1ST PHENOM 100 JET TYPE RATINGS

Father and son, Keith and Ryan Christensen, are first two FAA customers to be type-rated
with the Full-Flight Simulator

São José dos Campos, October 20, 2009 – Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) celebrated
a milestone in its training program, as the first two type ratings were recently issued by using
the Phenom 100 Full-Flight Simulator (FFS) certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA), and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Keith Christensen
and his son Ryan received their Phenom 100 type ratings after a 15-day training period at the
ECTS facilities located in CAE’s SimuFlite Training Center in Dallas, Texas, U.S.

“Our congratulations go to Keith and Ryan for this very special achievement,” said Simon
Newitt, Embraer Director of Customer Training. “Not so long ago, we were celebrating the
Frost family (Jim and Betsy) as the first to receive their type ratings by training with the
aircraft. Now, we have the Christensens becoming the first Phenom 100 pilots to receive their
type ratings by using the Full-Flight Simulator.”

The simulator was certified last September and has
been enthusiastically recommended by Keith
Christensen, President and founder of Christensen

metal and machined parts based in Salt Lake City,
Utah, U.S. “I have been through many pilot
training courses, but never have I learned so much
